King Duarte Pio to visit Britannia

The Portuguese Royal Office announced today the intention of HRH, King Duarte Pio to visit London. This would be the Monarch's first trip outside the nation in several years

Duarte Pio boarded his jet at Lisbon international and got ready to head to London. The King looked forward to the trip, short though it may be. He then looked over at his secretary, "Carlota, get in contact with Muufu and see about the possibility of a visit there. I think it's high time we started forming some strong alliances." As the jet took off the Monarch poured himself a drink and settled in for his arrival in London.

While in London the airport was set out for the King's arrival and many things had been planned, such as a tour of the city, a meeting with the Prime Minister, and off course a visit to the Royal Palace

The Royal Jet landed at Heathrow airport at about noon London time. Dom Duarte Pio disembarked from the plane along with his wife, Isabel, who appears much younger than he. As the awaiting press started snapping photos the two began waving, politely, to the crowd as they made their way towards the awaiting transportation.

"Welcome to Britannia, King Duarte Pio!" states King Henry loudly to his new guests giving them a small wave before holding out his hand to shake

Upon arriving at the Houses of Parliament, he was given a short tour, before meeting the Prime Minister, "Welcome to Britannia your highness" the Prime Minister said in portuguese

The King continued,"Prime Minister, I would like to put on the table with you an offer to strengthen our already longstanding ties. As you are no doubt aware relations between our countries go as far back as the middle ages; when English crusaders on the way to the Holy Land helped our then King, Afonso Henriques, retake Lisbon from the Moors. My Prime Minister and I are convinced that both our nations would benefit from further uniting our causes."
