Freedom Party protests in Sydney and Hobart have stopped many from going to the polls. The UNP have won fifty-eight of the seats, RNP has won thirty-three, the Freedom Party rejoined in the last minute earning eight seats but would have gained more, the newly formed Socialist Alliance has won two, and independents have managed a spectacular win of nineteen seats. The UNP, a small group of independents, and the socialist alliance have formed a government. Eric Combs will remain Prime Minister.
