There are industrial carbon dioxide recycling plants that can one day suck CO2 out of the atmosphere and convert it into a zero-carbon e-diesel fuel. The system does essentially do the job of trees, but in places unable to host them, such as icy plains and deserts. The CO2 recycling plants will combine carbon dioxide with hydrogen split from water to form hydrocarbon fuel.

In the Ordos Desert many of these Carbon Plants are already set up with more on the way.
