The Sultanate of Kolchya
« on: January 06, 2016, 04:58:42 am »
The Sultanate of Kolchya is a nation primarily based in the Caucasus. It grew out of separatism from the Muslim populations of Chechnya and Dagestan, primarily. Islam had spread throughout the region, taking over from the Orthodox Christianity that had gripped the Caucasus. Now, the Chechens launched several wars to integrate their neighbors and to form one single unified Caucasus.  As a result, the Sultanate of Kolchya was formed, and it's capital was moved from Grozny to a new city that was built, named Kolchya.

Today, the Sultanate is mainly a Muslim nation with an Orthodox Christian minority. It, of course, is Sunni and it's citizens are expected to follow the Sunnah, with the exception of whatever Christians or Jews live within the borders. The people and government tolerate these groups, since they too follow Abrahamic religions, but others are not. Religious leaders have quite a lot of power over the people and government and religion obviously plays a big role in Kolchya.

As for it's armed forces,  compulsory service laws are in place. All males must serve for at least 2 years between 18 and 45, and then must attend routine training operations as members of the reserve force.

Economic-wise, the nation  has few corporations or companies, with most everything being government owned or administrated. However, private business is not forbidden and as such there are some that are notable.
