Occupation of Chukotka
« on: January 18, 2016, 09:36:47 am »
(Ill be putting on an image when I get to my pc later, I had just written this on my phone and I didn't want to write it again😊)

On January 18th, 2016, the long dormant forces of the Velucian Imperial Dominion begin to move again. Due to the recent expansion onto the mainland by the Yamakami Empire, the armed forces have been pushed by the government to seize the region of Chukotka to the east. There is very little resistance expected in this region due to its barren nature and lack of resource so only the 3rd mechanises infantry division and the 13th light armoured division small be sent in, though reinforcements shall be dispatch to act as garrisons for occupied towns. The operation shall commence with the mobilisation of troops into the towns of Bilibino, Kepervayem and Ilirney and to naval assault of Avon, Pavek, Yanranay and Rytkuchi. Estimated casualties are low, ranging between 50 to 200 out of a total of 15000 infantry and it's believed that the cold shall eliminate more armour units that enemy forces, around 250 light tanks (PT-76's)

As expected, the only resistance held in the region were the police forces in the towns, however they quickly surrendered after brief skirmishes.

While the forces move steadily onwards, paratroopers are dropped at the far east of the region, around 2000 men in all, to sweep through Khatyrka, Metnypilgyno and Beringovski. Along with this, three Kirov class battle-cruisers will be sent to acompany troop transports so to invade to remaining costal cities on the east coast. Like before, casualties should be limited to the hundreds.
