Training

Royal Defense Force, Baronial Naval Defense, Royal Flying Force Basic Training:
Citizens from the age of 15 can join the Esterfortian Army. Phase 1 Army boot camp is 3 years in length, during which the first few weeks are spent on classroom instruction and orientation. The following week, recruits then exercise what they learned through combat zone exercises before they begin marksmanship training and qualification. In the final weeks, recruits continue on to conquering the Confidence Course, which involves camaraderie, team building, live grenade throwing, parachuting also including HALO and HAHO, marching and final physical fitness tests. Recruits then paddle from Uruguay To St.Lawerence Island, a final three-day field journey prior to graduation. Phase II Army boot camp is 3 and a half years long and is divided into three phases. During the first phase, recruits are educated on core values, history, customs and courtesies, international languages, and leadership principles. The next phase involves swim qualification, rifle marksmanship training, martial arts training, close-order drill and the gas chamber exercise. During the third phase, recruits demonstrate their new skills prior to being minted as basic soldiers. Phase three involves final drill, knowledge and physical fitness tests as well as the Crucible, a three-day field survival exercise. After which they are assigned to a sqaud with which they particpate in a fitness challenge to be able to choose their deployment zone against another sqaud, the sqaud that loses this competition is given the worst deployment area available at the time. S.T.A.R.S. (Special Tactics And Rescue Service) Training:
Members of these units are expected to be in top physical condition and ready to engage in combat at any moment. These may also be placed as bodyguards for high-ranking government officials. For this reason, they are often trained in extremely uncomfortable and even painful circumstances. Esterfortian Special Units willingly endure torture and punishment to become accustomed to pain and thus less likely to crack under aggressive interrogations. They specialize in hostage rescue, which puts them in extremely high risk situations. They train in the brutal martial art of Krav Maga and Spetsnaz GRU hand-to-hand combat style to develop hand-to-hand combat skills. Since they live in some of the world’s most dangerous regions, members of the S.T.A.R.S. must be prepared to use their deadly skills at a moment’s notice.

International Secret Intelligence Service (ISIS) Training:
Agents for this elite unit are given comprehensive training in hand-to-hand combat, and improvised weaponry. In addition to combat training, recruits learn those classic spy skills like undercover surveillance, evasive driving and explosives handling.

Regal Marines Training (Can be done after completing Basic Training):
The RM is renowned for its daring courage and physical fitness. Twenty-one weeks of basic training are devoted to conditioning, combat diving, and land warfare. Those that make it through go on to parachute training and then RM Qualification. The latter lasts for twenty-six weeks and includes extreme weather training in Siberia. Graduating from this grants one respect and then, guess what, even more training.

Overview: Manufactured by Amore, the Gryphon is one of the more unique additions to the Esterfortian Military’s forces. A mobile forward base, the Gryphon is designed to transport its crew long distances and, when a suitable base location is found, settle into place and transform into a fully-equipped fireteam base. Inside, the Gryphon possesses compact living accommodations, weapon containment, a small command-center suite, and a vehicle bay large enough to accommodate a single loadout-dependent vehicle. The Gryphon comes in two variants; land, and naval. Though the 10 millimeter caliber is often paired with the model name in both common and military parlance, in reality the AM24 is not a singular model of pistol; it is instead a generalized pistol receiver design created with the express purpose of manufacturing modularity. In actuality, AM24 receivers can be chambered for calibers ranging from 7mm to 13mm in diameter. Though the weapon concept itself has existed for many millennia, the Reaper is no relic of the past; constructed using specially-formulated compounds and precision-engineered components, this weapon of silent destruction is capable of firing arrows at effective lethal ranges of over 350 meters, with accuracies to match provided that the arrows are equipped with correction-capable fletching and homing capabilities, as they typically are. To handle a wide array of situations, the Reaper often comes equipped with a variety of arrowheads, ranging from broadhead to explosive to gas, to be used in conjunction with a special quiver. Though specialized training is required to utilize this weapon to its fullest extent, since its introduction it has become a favorite amongst the higher echelons of VSOP specialists. The Trailblazer Countermine Vehicle is the world’s first compact and fully tracked MilitaryLoad Class (MLC) 30 armoured countermine vehicle. Its protective armour and mobility provide the SAF with a new mine clearing capability.
The Trailblazer combines speed and efficiency in clearing a safe route through minefields. The groundbreaking design of the Trailblazer allows for quick deployment and stowage using automated controls. Its three main systems: the Flail System (FS), Kinetics Route Indicator System (KRIS), and Hydro-Mechanical Continuous Variable Transmission (HMCVT), improvethe survivability and operational capability of the crew.
Flail System (FS)
The Trailblazer features the world's first integrated flail system (FS), which is a rotating chain that sweeps and detonates mines. Mounted on a modified BIONIX chassis, the mechanical FS dislocates, destroys and detonates mines. It is efficient, as the FS employs the use of flail hammers, spinning at high speed to overcome increasingly shock-resistant mines. It is capable of clearing a path of 100 meters in length and 3.2 meters in width in less than seven and a half minutes.
Kinetics Route Indicator System
The Kinetics Route Indicator System (KRIS) is an innovative lane marking system. Unlike other similar systems available in the market, this system produces a straight line, constant-width lane marking. It indicates the cleared route with javelin-like spikes that are pierced through the ground, enabling other vehicles to follow safely. The markers are fired by compressed air and each marker can even be embedded into hard tarmac.
Hydro-Mechanical Continuous Variable Transmission (HMCVT)
The HMCVT is the first state-of-the-art hydro-mechanical transmission in an MLC 30 armoured vehicle. It gives the Trailblazer two extreme modes of mobility - a slow speed of 0.25km/h and high speed of up to 50km/h. This is a significant improvement from conventional transmissions, which are unable to achieve both extremely low-speed and high-speed ranges. This 2-transmission-in-1 technology empowers the Trailblazer to meet both speed requirements, and keeps the overall design light and compact to meet the SAF’s operational requirements for a fast and nimble design. In addition, this transmission can be easily operated with a wireless remote control.
In addition to the three main systems, the Trailblazer also features an armoured two-man cabin with cushioned crew seat, five-point seat belt and mine-resistant cabin mounting to reduce shock transmission to the crew during operation. This design gives its crew greater spatial awareness and increased protection from direct fire, debris and anti-tank mines.
To ensure that all performance and reliability specifications were fully met, the team from DSTA, The Army and ST Kinetics worked closely to devise an operational test and evaluation framework, as well as a blast qualification test methodology for a smooth transition of the Trailblazer to the operations and support phase.
The Trailblazer is the result of the successful ops-tech integration and collaboration between DSTA, The Army and ST Kinetics. With DSTA managing the overall design and development, The Army shaping operational requirements and ST Kinetics providing the detailed design, development and production, the team has delivered a new mine clearing capability to the SAF.

Airbus Counter-UAV System

With a projected one million drones sold during the holidays, the potential security risks to everything from military installations to energy plants to airports increased as well. Bearing that in mind, Airbus Defence and Space recently introduced its Counter-UAV System as a way to detect potential UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) threats from a distance of between 5 and 10 km (3 and 6 miles) and bring them down with electronic countermeasures.

The system uses a combination of radars, infrared cameras and direction finders to identify drones and determine their threat potential. A human operator compares the data from the system to a threat library and realtime analysis of control signals, to determine whether or not to jam the signal and interrupt the link between the drone and its pilot and/or its navigation system. A direction finder within the system can then be used to detect the location of the pilot for apprehension.

The company's Smart Responsive Jamming Technology ensures that only the signals used to operate the drone are jammed while other nearby frequencies remain unaffected and operational. The jamming technology is also designed to allow the user to both identify the UAV and initiate a controlled takeover if necessary.
