Rangers were fighting in Homs, Syria. Al-Assad's soldiers were putting up fierce resistance, and the Rangers were having a hard time pushing into the city. They were fighting with the Kurds. Heavy resistance was being dealt with on the outskirts of the city. The Rangers only mission was to help the Syrians, not to occupy the country. The Rangers and the Kurds push deeper into the city, and are met with the fiercest resistance since the beginning on the war. After hours of fighting, Homs is taken by the Kurds and Rangers.
-
Since the Prussian Government has been providing food and ammunition to the Syrian government and its people, the Syrian Military finds itself with an extra 400 Leopard 3 Main Battle Tanks, A few dozen shipments of 100 HK 417 Battle Rifles, Puma IFVs, and 12 SPzH 2000 Self-Propelled Artillery Pieces, along with 25 ME-20 fighters.
200 KSK Operatives have been sent to Syria to serve as advisers to Assad's forces, along with 1,000 Fallschirmjagers that will be protecting Prussian diplomatic assets and financial facilities.
-
Rangers now sit on the outside of Damascus, hoping to find Assad, and end him. Assad was going to make a speech to the people of Damascus that they would win the uprising. When he would be making the speech in the town square, a sniper would assassinate Assad, and that would signal the Rangers to storm the city and take it from the government. Then, hopefully the rest of the Syrian government would surrender their power to the Kurds, and the war would be over. They were waiting for further news of Prussian assistance to see how much they would involve themselves.
-
Damascus, thanks to the assistance of the 1,000 Fallschimjager, has a very air-tight defensive grid. Following the loss of Homs, the Syrian government has allowed Prussia to deploy 12,000 Fallschirmjager operatives to Damascus and the surrounding areas, along with a full Carrier Group resting off the coast.
Assad not only has a group of Syrian guards, he also has a group of KSK armed with HK 417s and sporting full-body armor and thermal monoculars.
-
The next day had come, and the Rangers were in position. About 200 made it into the city with trench coats on, and M4 Carbines hidden underneath them. A sniper was in position, and he watched the "president" take the stage and start talking. About 30 minutes into the speech, the sniper lined up the shot, and fired the bullet. It went straight Assad's neck, and then chaos started. The Rangers unveiled their guns and starting shooting Assad's soldiers. They were very careful not to hit the civilians.
-
The Greater Roman Republic demands an explanation to the assassination of a sovereign leader, and an imideat withdrawal and review of any forces in the region, fauler to meet the demands will result in war.
-
The immensely-trained KSK special forces operatives, seeing nothing more than armed terrorists shooting up a political gathering, begin firing at the Rangers. The moment that the sniper fires a shot, a nearby Fallschrimjager Designated Marksman lines up a shot with his HK-417, firing a counter-shot at the sniper.
150 Fallschrimjager were standing guard at the speech. They all turn and fire at the M4-wielding Rangers, avoiding civilians.
The Luftwaffe ramps up airstrikes against the Kurdish positions, and 10,000 more Fallschrimjager are deployed to Syria to escalate the destruction of the Kurdish terrorists.
-
The bullet grazes the sniper's ear, and he takes cover. The Rangers that weren't cut down by the Prussians retreated to the sniper building, where they decided to hold out until the rest of the Rangers and Kurds pushed into the city.
-
Fourteen KSK operators move in on the building, bearing CQC equipment. The plaza is quickly locked down by the large number of Prussian soldiers in the area. A grid of designated marksmen are placed in the buildings around the plaza, all of them scanning the building where the sniper was hiding.
The Prussian defensive line around Damascus sports dozens of Leopard 3 MBTs, 100 Puma IFVs, 20 Pzh Artillery pieces, and 15,000 soldiers all dug into incredibly defendable positions with MG-3 nests providing overwatch from nearby buildings or on ground-level.
-
The Prussians moving on the building are fired upon the sniper, who emerges from cover. His brothers-in-arms would not die today, not with the old American protocol in effect. F-15s quickly enters Syria's border, and make a bombing run on the town square, devoid of citizens. The bombs land in the town square, with a heavy effect.
-
The F-15s bomb 40 Prussian soldiers out of existence, killing them instantly. They are quickly engaged by the carrier group's ME-35 fighter wing, which blazes towards them at Mach-2.1.
The sniper, after popping out from cover, instantly has four .50 caliber rounds sent his direction from counter-snipers. Only two of the advancing KSK are hit. The KSK pull back, evacuating the square quickly once the bombs hit. As the KSK pulled back to minimum safe distance, a Leopard 3 MBT rolls into the plaza once the bombs ceased falling, firing a 120mm HE round towards the building.
-
It hits the building, and it collapses, killing all but 6 of the Rangers. They crawl out, coughing, and severely injured. They sat down, awaiting death or imprisonment.
-
The Roman Government Declares a state of war on Celatoro, and Mobilizes its forces to the middile east.
-
The Celatoroan Parliament all agrees in declaring war on Prussia and the Greater Roman Republic, and scrambles the air force.
-
Roma, Italia, and Venito (Italia Classes) and two Germania classes, Germania and Magna Germania form a Fleet and move to the coast of Lebenon, 20 km of shore.
-
The Prussian military mobilizes a full engagement force to stabilize Syria as a nation, sending 300,000 soldiers to begin pushing the Kurds back. Airstrikes against the Kurds are ramped up, including cruise missile strikes against Kurdish airbases and staging grounds.
The six Rangers are immediately detained by twelve KSK operatives. They are patted down and relieved of any weapons and armor that they may have.
-
5 Hobert Class Destroyers and 2 Canberra Class Carriers move towards Lebanon to intercept the Roman Fleet.
-
As the destroyers move towards the Roman fleet, a barrage of 20-inch guns rain down on them from the nearby Prussian Carrier Group as the two Bismarck-Class Battleships open fire. Six SEARAM Cruise Missiles are fired at the Celatoran fleet from Berlin-Class missile cruisers. Three Type-206 submarines begin creeping towards the Celatoro fleet at 2 knots, running on silent.
-
The 200,000 men are deployed to Syria to support the Kurds and destroy the Syrian Government.
-
98 aircraft are launched from the two Italia Class Avation Cruisers, 94 are M/F-1 JSF's and 4 of which are F.W. 19 Zerstörer's, the fleet maintains a 150 km distance, and 4 F.W. 19's along with 18 Escorts are sent tp engage the enemy carriers, if any get in range they use GAU-8 guns to disable the flight decks and 102 mm cannons to damage the bridge and harass the ships.
-
F-22s engage in combat with Prussian Aircraft, and shoot them out of the sky over Damascus.
-
The Prussian ME-20s are forced to make a hard retreat towards the safety of the Carrier Group's AA Screen. Before they can all return, two of the six ME-20s are shot down by the markedly faster F-22s.
-
The F.W. 19's begain the harassment run, using their GAU-8's along with 102's to disable the carriers flight decks, two runs can do this to one carrier and there are four planes, they break into groups of two and engage.

8 F-15 are launched and shoot down 2 F.W 19s. F-16s are launched towards a Roman destroyer and starts a strafing run.
-
8 F-15 are launched and shoot down 2 F.W 19s
(I have four, two groups of two, each group is engaging a carrier)
The 18 escorting planes engage the 8 F-15's. (Either you keep shooting the the bombers and die, or break of and fight these guys, asuming you keep on the bombers then you kill three of the four, but you would loose all your fighters)
F-16s are launched towards a Roman destroyer and starts a strafing run.
(I dont have destroyers here, two Aviation cruisers, two battle-cruisers, and a capital ship, also i assume these are coming from your carrier's?)
-
[K, sorry, i have a bad memory and I am too lazy to go back and check]
The fighters break off, and engage the escort planes.
-
The Prussian fleet fires another barrage of 20-inch guns at the Celatoro destroyers, along with another six cruise missiles directed towards the two carriers.
-
Two carriers were heavily damaged, and couldn't move. The rest of the fleet pulled back to the Israeli coast.
-
As the four subs had finally finished creeping up on the small fleet, they all fire off two 512cm torpedoes each. Since the subs were running completely silent and sitting incredibly close to the Celatoro fleet, there is very little chance for these torpedoes to miss their mark, since they are also sonar-guided.
Two torpedoes are sent at each carrier, the rest scattered out towards the destroyers in the fleet.
-
The fighters break off, and engage the escort planes.
The F.W. 19 has defensive guns, which shoot at the fighters as they break off, hoping to keep them away, the escorts engage, they have the numerical advantage but AA from the ships evens things out, the Roman forces loos 11 planes while the attackers take damage and loose some too, the remaining 7 break off and return to the Aviation Cruisers, the F.W.-19's unleash the guns on the carriers and then leave, such an attack does not sink the carrier but damage the flight deck so fighters have a very hard time landing, and an even harder one taking off.
-
The remaining 5 fighters try to land, but one crashes veers of the carrier, taking out an empty jet and the fighter into the ocean. The rest land successfully. After that, the fleet retreats to the Black Sea.
-
The Roman fleet returns to its original location, the Italia Classes keep a defensive fighter screen up, while Roma bombards any troops that are bothering the Prussian Forces. (18 inch guns)
-
All troops in Syria pull out, scrapping the plan. They had been mostly successful in their mission, so they left Syria.
-
The Roman Republic and Prussia has declared war on an ally, Celatoro, and, due to the alliance that binds us, the ADA alliance will surely help. The number of Yamakami's military presence are still being judged by the parliament and the celatoro government.
You have declared war to one of our allies,
You have declared war on the alliance.
While the negotiation is taking place, the Yamakami air force sent 2 warplanes for surveillance purposes. This will have to suffice for now.
-
As the Alliance has given Prussia no choice, the two surveillance aircraft are quickly detected by the Prussian fleet and two F-35A Interceptors are sent to run interference at the surveillance planes, and escort them away from the Prussian forces.
-
The 300,000 Bundeswehr soldiers continue marching against the Kurdish forces in Syria, and they push hard against the now-defunded kurdish militias.
-
We would like to make it clear that our warships are there for surveillance and will not interfere with the forces involved. We request that you stop interfering with our surveillance. No harm will be done
-
You have made it clear that you will bring harm to the Prussian forces at some point in the near future. This is a fairly rational response, in comparison to the other option, which would be to simply shoot them down.
-
The Roman Underwater Warfare Command tasks 30 Type-III U-boats to cut all supplies entering the Empire Of Yamakami's islands in the Atlantic (ships are allowed to leave), the U-boats are advised to move at no more than 3.5 Knots while in hostile waters. these boats are supplemented by patrols of F.W. 19's (50 tasked to the Area, groups of two) which where designed for the roll of harassing small ships, any cargo vessel attempting to enter will be given three warnings and 5 minutes to turn around, before the aircraft uses its Gau-8 and 102 mm gun to obliterate it. U-Boats only give one warning and three minutes to any ship, U-Boats will pick up any surving crew if they do sink a ship.
(Islands dont last long without food, or oil)
-
As the two surveillance aircraft move towards Prussian territory, 8 Imperial MiG-31 interceptors rendezvous with them to ward of the incoming Prussian aircraft.
Meanwhile, on land; the Celatoro army meets up with the 4th and 6th Imperial armies, boasting around 500,000 men 6000 heavy and medium tanks and 2000 light tanks together. They came with rations and ammunition for the allied army and worked with them to set up a camp and defences outside the border of Syria.
-
The Prussian Military begins lobbing dozens of Cruise Missiles at the Imperial Lines, intent on destroying staging grounds and airfields.
The four ME-20s break off from the surveillance aircraft, engaging their afterburners and returning to the Prussian Fleet at MACH-2.6.
-
Due to several issued S-400 Triumf launch vehicles placed along the defensive line, the full force of the missile barrage is diverted, although three confirmed detonations were recorded, with estimated casualties of 1230 men and 13 T-90a's were destroyed. The damage was seen as minimal. In retaliation, the S-400 Triumfs switched to their long range 40N6 missiles and launched seven of these at Prussian forces in Syria spotted by the passing surveillance planes moments earlier.
The MiGs do not pursue but form a loose diamond formation around the two Yamakami planes, with the lead firing a warning shot at the retreating Prussian ME's
-
The missile launches are detected by the dozens of passive radar stations that were provided to the Assad Regime during the early days of Prussian involvement. The Prussian Military's HEMTT trucks with Phalanx CIWS batteries being towed behind them light up the missiles, shooting all but one down. It impacts directly on top of a Leopard 3, destroying it and killing 25 Fallschimjager.
The Prussian airbase in Crimea begin scrambling squadrons of B-2 Spirit Bombers, which begin climbing to high altitude. They are outfitted with ablative Stealth Coating and are escorted by thirty ME-20s with similar stealth capabilities.
Thr Zumwalt-Class destroyers, being outfitted with incredibly long-range coil gun systems, begin launching 6-inch shells at the defensive line at incredible speeds and witb deadly precision.
-
*From the joint task force command tent*
"Sir!" shouted an a corporal "The enemy have begun shelling the camp, they've already destroyed around 70 of the 2S25's and around 1000 men are dead. I don't think we can sustain this for long!"
"Damn." Grunted Field-marshal Maskirov "Where's the Celatoronian General? Never mind, we can't stay here anyway. Order the men to advance into Damascus. Let the the Celatoronians guard the flank for now until they deem in wise to move as well. Radio in a naval strike, on high density areas, to flush out the defenders and get the pilots in the sky, I want those SU-24's on constant bombing runs and the MIL-MI28's to provide close air support for the troops."
"Yes sir!"
-
The Prussian Government clearly poses a threat to us. We have no choice but to defend ourselves. We will declare war to the Prussian Government.
The Yamakami Government supports the Velucian Imperial Dominion's advancement to Damascus and is offering medical help to its army, if they grant us permission to do so.
-
The velucian soldiers are continually bombarded by 6-inch railgun slugs from thr Zumwalt-Class destroyers. Twenty five B-2 Spirits, practically invisible to conventional radar systems, begin carpet bombing the Velucian lines along with 50 pzh 155mm self propelled artillery systems.
The defensive lines around Damascus are bolstered with another 250 Leopard 3 MBTS and 120,000 soldiers.
-
The Velucian army push through the enslaught of cannon fire and press on towards the city. A constant rate of casualties are being sustained, with an estimated 7000 dead, several thousand injured and 12 T-90a's turned into smouldering carcasses. However, about 500 meters away from the cities defences, the Velucians are given grace as the bombardment begins. 14 SU-24s continually smash the city with high explosive and incendiary bombs, with very little time between each run. The S-400 triumfs left at the base launch their remaining warheads at the defensive line and the cannons of 7 Sovremennyy-class destroyers along the coastline. The Mig-31 fighter escorts for the 24s break off the engage the B-2s, equipped with VHF radar systems that allow for the detection of stealth aircraft, before they can concinue their runs. The first MIL-MI28s that get in to range begin launching air to ground rockets at the line in order to soften up the defenders of the main assault.
-
Six of the B-2s are shot down, but all of them manage to release their payload of 4 5000 kilogram bombs directly on top of the Velucian defenses.
The SU-24s, as they pass, are lit up by 60 Flakpanzer Gepards, firing both SAMs and 30mm cannons at the slower CAS aircraft.
The missiles being fired at the defensive lines kill around 1200 soldiers, 15 Leopard 3s, and a single PZh.
The instant that the Velucian Destroyers open fire, the Prussian Carrier Group off the coast of Lebanon all opens fire. The two Bismarck-class Battleships fire a collective 16 tri-cannon 20-inch naval guns, all of them assisted by a firing computer. The 8 Berlin-Class Missile Cruisers fire off a collective 16 anti-ship ballistic missiles towards the destroyers, focusing on four of them. The eight Type-206 U Boats that were previously used to creep up the Coast silently orient themselves to fire their torpedoes, each of them firing off 2 535cm anti-ship torpedoes then going into a shallow dive at 2 knots immediately after.
Any T-90As that engage the Leopard 3 have a very difficult time penetrating the tank from the front, given its sloped design and ERA.
The pzh 2000s continue firing off 155mm shells at heavy concentrations of attacking infantry or armored vehicles.
-
Redern has sent three hundred army Rangers to rescue civilians and distribute food in Damascus, Aleppo, and other major cities. This mission is purely humanitarian, the soldiers will be armed only to defend themselves should fighting become necessary. We ask that the other nations of the war respect our neutrality in this conflict.
-
Velucian high command, realising that casualties have gone beyond expected levels; at around 20,000 men and 1000 pieces of armour, decided that the needs of the Imperial Dominion are greater than that of the Syrian people. Tons of explosives are now being dropped on the Prussian lines, with bombers ordered to drop as much of their payload as possible; no longer tied back by precautions of civilian targets. The MIL-MI28s bombard any locations believe to contain enemy armour with rockets and have begun destroying the foundation of any multi-storey buildings near to the Prussians in an attempt to collapse them on the defenders. 2S19 Msta's (SPGs) brought up from the reserves have also begun to fire shell at any designated targets velucian troops have been able to paint. The Imperial 2nd fleet (made up of 1 Kuznetsov-class aircraft carrier, 2 Kirov-class battlecruisers, 5 Sovremennyy-class destroyers and 8 Grisha-class corvettes) makes its way to intercept the Prussian fleet currently bombarding Damascus.
On the ground, Velucian infantry have moved into range of Prussian forces and have begun fighting. Due to the numerous ruins surrounding Damascus, due to its history, the soldiers gain cover and pick off targets as they see them, they are around 35 - 40 meters away. The T-90a's, however, are struggling to damage the numerous Leopard 3's due to their forward armour and so attempt to use flanking manoeuvres to get shots at the rear of the tanks. For the most part this is a success, though armour causalities are high. The 2S25's, on the other hand, have been very successful in their task - which is to put as much pressure on the Prussian infantry as possible.
Seeing how the 24s were being picked off by Prussian Gepards, after they had expelled all their ammunition, they returned back to what remains of the airstrip - just in time to watch a Tupolev Tu-160, that had arrived just before the combat began from the mainland, take off to drop its payload of 20000kg of free-fall explosives. It is escorted by 12 SU-35 fighter jets.
(OOC - if any S's are missing, its because my s button doesn't work sometimes.)
-
The Rangers have been dodging the bombs as best as possible, around eight hundred civilians, primarily women and children, have been brought to safe zones around the city of Damascus. Many of these civilians reached the safe zones on there own accords in an attempt to avoid the Velucian bombing. A squad of Rangers disobeyed orders and went into the main bombing zone saving around fifty civilians, two have died and one has been severely wounded. Despite initial military reprimands, all five shall be given the highest military honors for there valiance.
-
The Western Commonwealth is shocked and appalled to hear that The Velucian's are attacking without any thought of civilian casualties. We would like to suggest that the Velucian's leave Syria, to maintain peace, prevent more civilian casualties and drag this war into more low levels.
The Commonwealth would like to suggest that the Velucian's be temporarily banned and sanctioned by the CEA for it's decision.
We also would like to give appreciation to Redern for it's brave actions to save as many civilian lives
-
We will gladly accept any charges set against us by the CEA. However, we will not disengage until Prussian forces have left Damascus.
-
For the needless casualties brought upon by the attacks in Syria and the deaths of two of our most heroic Rangers, we, the Republic of Redern, have decided to momentarily cut all trade with Velucia until they end there bombing of Syria. We have begun transferring the civilians over to transport ships in the Mediterranean, and we ask that our humanitarian mission be respected and that other nations join us. We might rethink our trade policies should Velucia and the other active forces agree to a ceasefire in order to better evacuate the local population.
-
(OOC - there should be a peace summit in another thread (by the western commonwealth I think, cant check as on phone) and im just waiting for that to go ahead.
Also, I love being the cause of world aggression, I think it adds character to a nation ;D)
-
The Western Commomwealth will officially join Redern's humanitarian mission proposal.
We will be taking in 10,000 private sponsored refugees and 10,000 government sponsored refugees. They will taken by Ship and also by government leased aircraft. We ask that no sides to respect our ships and planes. They will be escorted by armed aircraft amd ships.
More details coming soon.
-
We would like to thank the Western Commonwealth for aiding us on this humanitarian mission. We have also begun the process of taking in one hundred and fifty thousand Syrian Refugees from Turkey. The first eight hundred refugees have begun being taken back, in all fifteen rangers have died and sixteen have been wounded. Each one will be given full military honors for there brave actions in saving refugees lives.

Very few Prussian soldiers are actually within the city of Damascus, most are in entrenched locations outside of the city. The bombing campaign kills around 1,000 Prussian soldiers, and upwards of 55,000 Syrian Civilians. Seeing that they can no longer fall back, the remaining 210,000 Prussian soldiers stand their ground and dig in, assisted by a remaining 250 Leopard 3 MBTs, all of which are hulled down with only their heavily sloped turret, with extensive ERA, visible. The flanking maneuver is somewhat successful, but the ERA provides substantial protection. That, coupled with the fact that the Leopard 3's main cannon can perform a full 360 degree rotation in 8.3 seconds, makes the Leopard far more formidable than the T-90A in terms of close-range engagements.
As the Dominion fleet is presumably cutting through the Suez Canal and the Red Sea, rather than sailing around Africa, they find themselves cut off by a grid of submerged, stationary, and silent Type-206 U-Boats from the 2nd and 3rd Carrier Groups that were responsible for securing Iran and Pakistan. There are 18 U-Boats in total, all of them having laid naval mines in the path of the Velucian fleet. As the Velucian fleet sails into the minefield, the 18 U-Boats fire off a collective 40 553cm torpedoes at the Velucian battlegroup, immediately diving at a 30 degree angle at 2 knots after firing. They place preference on the aircraft carrier, battlecruisers, and destroyers.
The carrier off the coast of Lebanon deploys 35 ME-35 Interceptors to intercept the TU-160 and SU-35 Fighters. The Gepards also fire SAMs at the TU and SUs, with a priority placed on the TU. All-in-all, about 60 SAMs are fired at the aircraft, with 30 being directed specifically at the TU-160.
The 2 Bismarck-Class Battleships continue firing their 20-inch cannons at the Velucian tanks and soldiers, with the Zumwalt Destroyer's 6-inch railgun being fired at the Velucian SPGs. The Berlin-Class Cruisers continue firing their ballistic missiles at the Velucian Long-Rang Missile Systems, and their own 6-inch railguns at the Velucian AA. The Type-552 U-Boats begin firing cruise missiles from a submerged position, sending them towards large concentrations of Velucian tanks and soldiers at MACH-8.
*Berlin*
Prussian Naval High Command issues a classified order, dispatching 15 Type-552 U-Boats.

10 V-22 from the Belkan Armed Forces shall begin a shuttle route from the safe zones set up by Redern to the Mediterranean where WC or Redern can help them from away from the battlefield. V-22 can get in and out of hectic areas in Helo mode then rotate their props to fly fast to the Mediterranean. Let it be known these planes shall have no escorts and only be protected by the side MG's installed on the sides for self defense so we hope they are not attacked as they are here to save civilians.
-
(I cant challenge that at the moment, but I can say - "This has escalated very, very quickly")
-
Three Germania Class Battlecruisers, along with the Italia and Roma form the 2'cnd Fleet and join with the Prussian ships.

These civilians will be brought to South Australia where children will be taught in a public school designed to help make up for missed schooling and the learning of English and other important skills. Another one hundred thousand will be taken from Turkey and similarly placed.
-
The ospreys reach Syria and begin a shuttle route from the besieged city to points of rescue by Redern or the WC

The Velucian field-marshal receives a telegram stating that The Velucian Imperial Dominion and Prussia have begun peace negotiations and that they are to stand down for the time being. The Imperial fleet is ordered to stop immediately and the Velucian aircraft are ordered back to base. The Marshal just hopes that the Prussians will do the same.
(BTW - I was never bombing the city directly, the only reason that the choppers attack those buildings on the outskirts was to attempt to drop them on Prussian troops. I never put that I directly attacked the city itself. I may have been a bit too vague though in my description)
